Project/Programme Coordinator - Ōtara, Auckland Transpower owns and operates New Zealand’s National Grid, the high-voltage transmission network connecting areas of generation with towns and cities across the motu. Our core purpose is to empower the energy future for New Zealand – a future that delivers a net-zero carbon economy and a reliable and secure electricity system. About the team Grid Delivery oversees all work on the national grid, including capital project and maintenance activities delivered with our service provider organisations. We manage approximately $700Min capital and $150M in maintenance expenditure annually, with significant growth forecast. OurnationalProject Support team plays a critical role in enabling this work, providing project support and performance services to over 70 Project Managersand Programme Managers,delivering grid capital investigation and build projects. Basedin ŌtaraAuckland,you’llprovideend‑to‑endsupport to Grid Delivery Project Managers. Working collaboratively,you’llbuild strong relationships with stakeholders, coordinate project activities, manage information accurately, and help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. Whatyou’llbe doing: Acting as the key point of contact for project support and information, coordinating activities and administration across the project lifecycle Coordinating and supporting financial management, including forecasting, invoicing, accruals and variance reporting, while working closely with Project Managers and our finance team Monitoring and analysing reports andperformance metrics to support effective project management Contributing to continuous improvement andidentifyingopportunities for greater efficiency About you You’re a team player who is curious, enjoys learning, loves supporting others, and is comfortable switching between different priorities as the day requires. You bring a positive, practical mindset and good attention to detail. To be considered, your CV and cover letter willdemonstrate: Experience in, or a strong interest in, project or programme coordination Sound financial acumen and familiarity withfinancial managementsystems Strong analytical skills, with the ability toidentifyissues and exceptions Advanced capability across Microsoft Office and Office 365, including Excel (experience with Microsoft Project is an advantage) Strong organisational, coordination and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep projects running smoothly While not essential, please let us know if you have: Experience documenting business processes,proceduresor training materials Interest in AI‑enabled tools (such as Microsoft Copilot) and a desire to build your capability in this area to support continuous improvement What sets this role apart?
