District Nurse - Mid North, Bay of Islands Hospital

Mid North District Nursing Mid North District Nursing - based in either Kawakawa, Kerikeri, Kaeo, or Kaikohe. Permanent, part time position (0.7FTE) working 28 hours per week. About the Role As a District Nurse in the Mid North area, you will be part of our community clinical services working across the Mid North area. The primary functions of this role include working to meet the needs of patients and their family/whānau using contemporary nursing care, which is safe, appropriate and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and is patient/client centred, culturally sensitive and evidence based. Click here to view the position description. Care will be provided in the community, either at the patients place of residence, community clinics, or other suitable environments as mutually agreed with the patient. This role will require travel across the Mid North area. About the Team/Service/Location The Community Clinical Services in the Mid North area work across four locations based in Kawakawa, Kerikeri, Kaeo and Kaikohe, caring for patients and their whanau in the community. Our work can be challenging but is also very rewarding. Our purpose is to encourage and educate families and individuals towards wellness and self-reliance in health. You will work in partnership with clients to promote health, prevent disease, maintain wellness and provide nursing care to referred clients in the community. For more information on living and working in Northland click here About you Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate Minimum one year post basic experience or recent primary health experience Current Full NZ drivers licence Proficient computer skills Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
