We’re on the lookout for a mature, reliable, and people-focused team players to join us as a Lifeguard at Huia Pool + Fitness , on a permanent full-time basis (40 hours per week). Vacancy 1 – 40 hours per week (5 shifts) Tuesday to Saturday: 10am to 7pm Why Join the Team? What the Role Involves As a Lifeguard, you'll: Keep our pools safe and welcoming for all ages Interact with tamariki, whānau, swimmers, and sports teams Help with general pool operations, cleaning, and setup Learn about plant room procedures and pool water treatment Be part of a team that cares about the people we serve and the standard we set Who We’re Looking For You don’t need previous lifeguard experience - we’ll train you up. You just need to: Be confident in the water and pass a 200m swim test (freestyle, under 6 minutes) Be mature, steady under pressure, and happy working with the public Bring a good attitude, strong teamwork, and a willingness to get stuck in Be available for a variety of shifts (especially evenings and weekends) We provide a full two-day lifeguard and first aid course to get you started, plus on-the-job support as you grow in the role. The successful applicant will need to hold or complete the required Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and First Aid Certificate before beginning poolside duties. Please note: To become a qualified Pool Lifeguard, you must be aged 16 or older. Applicants must therefore be at least 16 years of age . Ready to Make a Difference?
