About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced information management professional to join our System Leadership group as a Senior Advisor, Information Management. Reporting to the Manager, Information Management, you'll play a key role in strengthening information management capability across Oranga Tamariki. We are a small team that helps build a culture that values the way information is created, managed, shared and used. We are committed to ensuring the information we are responsible for is managed respectfully and supports better outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi. This is a varied role where you'll provide expert advice and guidance on information management practices, contribute to the implementation of policies and frameworks, and support initiatives that improve records and information management across the organisation. You'll work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout Oranga Tamariki and across the public sector to promote best practice and support compliance with information management obligations. Key responsibilities Providing operational information management advice and guidance Supporting the development and continuous improvement of information management policies, processes and organisational capability Working with business groups to identify practical and innovative solutions to information management challenges Supporting care records improvement initiatives and improving access to records Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Archives New Zealand and other government agencies Developing and delivering training, coaching and information management resources What you will bring Experience in information management, records management or a related discipline Knowledge of information management principles, practices and technologies Experience developing or improving information management processes, policies or frameworks Strong analytical skills, with the ability to capture, interpret and translate information needs into practical solutions Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences Proven relationship management skills and the ability to influence through collaboration Experience working in complex environments and managing competing priorities with resilience and creativity An understanding of statutory and compliance obligations relating to information management Knowledge of contemporary information management practices An appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Māori and culturally responsive ways of working A tertiary qualification in Information Management or a related discipline, Public Records Act knowledge and equivalent experience, will be highly regarded.
