About the Role: We're looking for a Café Manager who shares that vision and is excited about creating a warm and welcoming space at the heart of our community. Nestled within the Mt Albert Corps Community Centre, our café exists to bring people together, whether they are local residents, families, apartment occupants, community groups, volunteers, or those simply looking for a friendly face and a good coffee. This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves people as much as they love hospitality. You'll help create a place where everyone feels seen, valued, and welcomed, while leading a team of volunteers who share a heart for serving others. We're seeking someone with a genuine Christian faith, a gift for building relationships, and the ability to foster a culture of hospitality that reflects God's love in practical ways every day. What will your responsibilities be: Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people feel at home. Build meaningful relationships with customers, volunteers, and members of our wider community. Lead and encourage a team of volunteers who serve with heart and purpose. Help grow a vibrant community hub where people can connect and belong. Oversee the day-to-day running of the café and ensure a positive experience for everyone who walks through the door. Support the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army through everyday acts of hospitality and service. Our ideal candidate will: Be passionate about people and community, with a genuine desire to help others feel welcome and connected. Be warm, approachable, and naturally hospitable, creating an environment where everyone feels they belong. Bring experience in café, hospitality, or customer service settings. Enjoy leading, encouraging, and working alongside volunteers. Be organised, adaptable, and able to take initiative.
