About the team Grid Delivery oversees all work on the national grid, including capital project and maintenance activities delivered with our service provider organisations. We manage approximately $700M in capital and $150M in maintenance expenditure annually, with significant growth forecast. Our national Project Support team plays a critical role in enabling this work, providing project support and performance services to over 70 Project Managers and Programme Managers, delivering grid capital investigation and build projects. About the opportunity Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a proactive, experienced Project/Programme Coordinator with excellent communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate enjoys working closely with others, has strong financial acumen and attention to detail, and thinks several steps ahead to anticipate upcoming priorities and challenges. Based in Ōtara Auckland, you’ll provide end‑to‑end support to Grid Delivery Project Managers. Working collaboratively, you’ll build strong relationships with stakeholders, coordinate project activities, manage information accurately, and help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. What you’ll be doing Acting as the key point of contact for project support and information, coordinating activities and administration across the project lifecycle Coordinating and supporting financial management, including forecasting, invoicing, accruals and variance reporting, while working closely with Project Managers and our finance team Monitoring and analysing reports and performance metrics to support effective project management Contributing to continuous improvement and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency About you You’re a team player who is curious, enjoys learning, loves supporting others, and is comfortable switching between different priorities as the day requires. You bring a positive, practical mindset and good attention to detail. Required experience and qualifications Experience in, or a strong interest in, project or programme coordination Sound financial acumen and familiarity with financial management systems Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and exceptions Advanced capability across Microsoft Office and Office 365, including Excel (experience with Microsoft Project is an advantage) Strong organisational, coordination and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep projects running smoothly Additional qualifications (not essential) Experience documenting business processes, procedures or training materials A project management qualification (CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) Interest in AI‑enabled tools (such as Microsoft Copilot) and a desire to build your capability in this area to support continuous improvement What sets this role apart You’ll build practical project coordination experience on infrastructure projects that really matter.
