Roadmarking Assistant

Higgins is a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand. We're looking for a motivated and reliable Roadmarking Assistant to join our Wellingotn based team and help deliver roadmarking and pavement marking services across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to start or grow your career in the civil construction industry, working alongside experienced Roadmarking Operators on a variety of local road, highway, and infrastructure projects. About the Role As a Roadmarking Assistant, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality roadmarking projects while learning valuable industry skills from an experienced team. This is predominantly a night shift position, with approximately 85% of work carried out overnight. Night work allows our crews to complete projects safely and efficiently while minimising disruption to road users. Flexibility to work nights is essential, with occasional day and weekend work required to support operational needs. This is a permanent, full-time role offering guaranteed hours, ongoing training, and opportunities for career progression. What You'll Be Doing Assisting with the application of road markings and pavement markings Preparing materials, equipment, and vehicles for daily operations Supporting the setup and pack down of work sites Assisting with traffic management activities where required Carrying out routine cleaning and maintenance of vehicles, plant, and equipment Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard Working closely with Roadmarking Operators and Supervisors Undertaking general labouring duties as required Working predominantly night shifts, with occasional day and weekend work Contributing to a positive team culture and safe work environment What You'll Bring Full Class 1 Driver Licence (essential) The ability and willingness to work regular night shifts A strong commitment to health and safety Good physical fitness and willingness to undertake hands-on work Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions A positive attitude and eagerness to learn Reliability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic Previous experience in roadmarking, civil construction, roading, or infrastructure is advantageous but not essential Why Join Higgins?
