About the Role As a Senior Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering large, complex technology initiatives that support Health New Zealand's strategic priorities and improve health outcomes for communities across Aotearoa. Leading high-performing, multidisciplinary delivery teams, you will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of digital projects—from inception and planning through to implementation—ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organisational objectives. Working closely with programme leaders, technical teams, clinicians, and key stakeholders, you will champion delivery excellence, foster collaboration, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement across a diverse technology landscape that supports critical healthcare services nationwide. About the Team/Service/ Location You'll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking Digital Delivery team dedicated to enabling better health outcomes through innovative technology solutions. Working alongside programme managers, delivery managers, technical specialists, clinicians, and business stakeholders, you'll help deliver complex digital initiatives that support frontline healthcare services across NewZealand. About you You are an experienced and strategic delivery leader with a passion for delivering complex technology initiatives that make a meaningful difference. With a proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams, you thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing competing priorities while driving projects from inception through to successful delivery. You bring strong stakeholder management skills, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to build trusted relationships across technical, clinical, and business teams. Adaptable, resilient, and solutions-focused, you are committed to delivery excellence, continuous improvement, and fostering an inclusive team culture. You'll also have an appreciation for Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to supporting equitable health outcomes for all NewZealanders. To succeed in this role, you will bring: Significant experience (10+ years) leading the successful delivery of large-scale technology projects, programmes, or digital transformation initiatives within complex organisations. Demonstrated success managing end-to-end project delivery, including planning, governance, risk management, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement. Proven experience leading and motivating large, cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and high performance. Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, with the ability to apply the most appropriate approach to achieve successful outcomes. Experience delivering technology solutions within cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and collaborate effectively with senior leaders, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders. Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Project Management (PMP or equivalent) and/or Agile certifications (CSM, PSM or similar) are highly regarded.
