What you'll be doing: We have a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated individual with outstanding technical and interpersonal skills to join our Finance team as a Senior Accountant. In this role you will be reporting to the Financial Controller where you will be providing financial accounting and reporting services to internal and external stakeholders. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that compliance with external financial reporting requirements is met and you will be monitoring the financial health of the business. Ideally, you are a CA qualified accountant and will have ideally operated in a similar role in the past, demonstrating your broad understanding of accounting standards, financial systems, complex modelling, regulatory obligations and stakeholder management skills. Your excellent communication and influencing skills as well as your business acumen, you will have the ability to make the most of your financial and analytical skills to drive improvements and truly add value to our business. Your day to day will be filled with: Contributing to finance deliverables to achieve business goals Providing accurate, complete and timely reporting of financial results Ensuring that our reporting meets the latest financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements Ensuring that levies and other financial regulations are met Solvency and capital deliverables Owning the general ledger and ensuring that balance sheet reconciliations performed by the team are accurate and complete Supporting with reinsurance activities Oversight/review of financial accountant tasks A bit about you: You're the kind of person that has a love for working with numbers, with an analytical mind with the ability to think laterally to find solutions to those out of the box challenges. To be successful in this role you will bring with you: Solid financial accounting experience in a Senior Accounting role in a corporate organisation In-depth understanding of accounting practices and standards Experience with statutory financial statements preparation and managing audit deliverables Experience with managing regulatory compliance deliverables Experience with owning finance systems/projects or driving finance initiatives.
