As a Catering Assistant at Devonport North Yard Galley , you will help deliver high-quality catering services in a busy Defence environment. You'll support food preparation, service delivery, cleaning, and customer care while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times. This is a Casual position where hours of work are "as and when" required basis upon business needs. Therefore, you MUST be available during weekends. Assist with preparing, portioning, and presenting food for daily meal services. Deliver friendly and professional customer service while responding promptly to customer needs. Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and deep cleaning activities. Support stock rotation, replenishment, food safety monitoring, and daily operational tasks. Follow all food safety, health & safety, and company procedures while working collaboratively within the team. Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or a similar customer-facing environment is preferred. NZ Full New Zealand driver license required. A positive team player who can also work independently when required. Strong communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused approach. Physically fit, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Flexible, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
