About the Role\n

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical NurseSpecialist (CNS) who has a passion for Women’s health and Oncology who willenjoy carrying out the role alongside our current Gynaecology Oncology CNS forthe service.

\n

This is an integral role in supporting the nursing andwider teams, leading with clinical expertise, reviewing patients, triagingreferrals, managing and supporting patients in their cancer journey, attendingmultidisciplinary meetings (MDMs), facilitating care pathways and collaboratingwith primary, secondary and tertiary providers in oncology journeys, are allkey functions of the role.

About the Team and Service\n

The GynaecologyOncology team are an incredibly hard working and kind team that strive onputting patients and their whanau at the centre of their care. You will workclosely with our Gynaecology Oncology SMOs, Fellows, Registrars,Administrators, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurses and Cancer Nurse Coordinatorsto provide care for wahine accessing our service.

The Gynaecology Oncology team support the whole SouthIsland for gynaecology oncology care and more recently is supporting the lowerNorth Island service too. This role is to support the increased demand in theservice as we require a second CNS to keep up with demand. When working in theGynaecology Oncology Service you will be rewarded with a great nursingenvironment and the opportunity to expand your skills and experience.

About You\n

Your clinical expertise and passion for women’s health willenable you to provide expert care and valuable support to women. You will workalongside the cancer nurse coordinators for our service as a team that is the keycontact for the patients and their family/whanau as well as healthprofessionals in navigating the health services to ensure efficient,appropriate and timely care is delivered. You will also collaborate withmembers of our senior nursing and management teams to develop and improve caredelivery across the service.

Having experience in a cancer and oncology care and/or gynaecology,knowledge of regional and national standards in relation to cancer care, andthe ability to function both collaboratively and autonomously, will provide youwith the enablers to carry out this role. Having comprehensive knowledge and understanding of health systems is an advantage.

• Anexperienced registered nurse with expert knowledge and skills in preferablyoncology and/or gynaecology.
\n
• Currentlyhold or be working towards a relevant post graduate qualification in nursing.
\n
• Provenleadership skills, with the ability to be a specialist resource nurse forpatients, and other clinicians.
\n
• A solution focused approach to your work and theability to problem solve and think on your feet
\n
• Hasa passion for Women’s Health and have a comprehensive understanding of thehealth inequities that exist in women’s health, with a will to mitigate these.
\n
• Motivated,adaptable, flexible, and solution focussed.
\n
• Ableto use technology efficiently (e.g., excel, databases)
\n
• Workwell in a team as well as autonomously
\n
• Registeredwith the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual PractisingCertificate (APC)
