Job Title: Lecturer in Mental Health and Addiction Department: School of Health Sciences (SHS) Location: Manawatū campus, Palmerston North Closing Date: Sunday 30 August 2026, 11.00pm The School of Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Lecturer in the area of Mental Health and Addiction. This is an ongoing full-time position. Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role In this role you will undertake, coordinate undergraduate teaching in the areas of Health Science and Mental Health and Addiction using a variety of modes of delivery mediums including through electronic and online technologies. You will undertake an active and appropriate programme of academic research, including by contributing to or leading supervision of postgraduate student research. Key attributes for this position include knowledge and expertise in mental health and addiction and social determinants. Knowledge and expertise of Kaupapa Māori approaches to Mental Health and Addiction is key for this position. Ko koe tēnei | About you Applicants for Lecturer are expected to: Have postgraduate qualification in Health Science or related discipline Have teaching experience in online, internal, blended and distance teaching delivery Teach courses in Bachelor of Health Science and Mental Health and Addiction major Have teaching experience in teaching internal, online/distance content design and delivery Demonstrate excellent teamwork and self-management skills Demonstrate research experience Have a research plan Have research publications Contribute to Postgraduate student supervision This position falls within a Lecturer salary range. The agreed salary will consider the candidate's qualifications and experience.
