# Consultant Acute Medicine Physician at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau, Northland## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role* **Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand*** **Permanent full-time position**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.**About the Role**We are looking for physicians to provide acute medical services within Northland; these are a combination of new and replacement roles.Existing specialties include:* General and Acute medicine* Rheumatology* Respiratory* Gastroenterology including a visiting hepatologist* Neurology* Cardiology* Infectious Disease* Endocrinology and diabetes* Healthcare of the elderly* Maternal Medicine* Oncology and Haematology* Renal medicineWe have several new facilities including a new Laboratory, endoscopy and cardiac catheter suite with the agreed funding for a new hospital which is currently in the planning stage.The role will be focused on acute medicine which will include Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), hot clinics and short stay wards, Emergency Department and managing inpatients.
