Consultant General Medicine Physician with subspecialty interest

Location Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand – Permanent full‑time position About the Role We are looking for physicians to provide medical services within Northland. This includes new and replacement positions with an interest in respiratory, infectious disease, rheumatology, and neurology. Existing specialties covered by the department include: General and Acute Medicine Rheumatology Respiratory Gastroenterology, including a visiting Hepatologist Neurology Cardiology Infectious Disease Endocrinology and Diabetes Healthcare of the Elderly Maternal Medicine Oncology and Haematology Renal Medicine The role involves a mix of off‑ward elective work and on‑ward inpatient management. On‑call rosters require some weekend work per year with a rostered day off after weekend duties. Qualifications Must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in an Internal Medicine vocational scope of practice. Overseas or unregistered candidates may be assisted with MCNZ registration. Location and Team The department has a family feel with a positive culture, busy and challenging environment.
