Role Overview Nurse Practitioner, Cancer and Blood Services, Northland, New Zealand. Permanent part‑time, 32 hours per week. About the Role The Nurse Practitioner is an expert nurse within an area of practice that incorporates advanced knowledge and skills. Advanced clinicians will self‑regulate and practice within their area of competence and experience. The role involves diagnosing, managing, treating and reviewing patient conditions through assessment, treatment and review planning processes in partnership with patients. The post holder will provide care to people with a focus on assessments, diagnoses, treatment, empowerment and support for patients and their whanau using evidence‑based knowledge and skills to achieve optimal health outcomes. About the Team / Service / Location Work alongside a multidisciplinary team in Medical Oncology providing an SACT service in Whangarei, Kaitaia, and soon in Dargaville. A new Radiation Oncology build is due to open in 2026, completing cancer care provided in Te Tai Tokerau. The team is based in beautiful Te Tai Tokerau and part of the wider regional team, providing personal and professional support. About you Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) as a nurse practitioner and holder of a current annual practising certificate (APC). Minimum of 4 years of experience in a specific area of practice. Completion of an approved clinical Masters degree or NP programme. Personal commitment to ongoing learning, development and quality improvement. Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written), including report writing.
