Consultant Urologist

About the Role We are looking for a Consultant Urologist to join the Surgical Department at Whangārei Hospital. Working across a diverse population and broad range of acute medicine specialities, you will have the chance to truly make a difference whilst developing your career and be part of a groundbreaking step for Northland, now expanding its surgical capability with the introduction of advanced robotic urology surgery. The role is predominantly based in Whangārei, with occasional travel to rural areas such as Kaitaia Hospital on a rostered basis. You will participate in the supervision and teaching of resident medical officers within the urology service and share an on‑call roster split between consultants. Provide safe, efficient and effective urology services to the Northland community. Occasional travel to rural hospitals as part of the roster. Participate in supervision and teaching of resident medical officers. Share an on‑call roster with other consultants. Location Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand. The area offers a warm climate, scenic coastal surroundings, affordable housing, excellent schools and recreational activities. It is a two‑hour drive from Auckland. Qualifications Specialist or locum tenens registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in the Urology vocational scope of practice.
