About the Role Join the Bay of Plenty Addiction Service (BOPAS) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of whai ora experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges. As a Case Manager within the community addictions team, you will provide assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing support from a harm reduction perspective, working alongside whai ora to achieve the recovery goals. This role offers diverse and rewarding work across hospital and community settings, supporting individuals through every stage of their recovery journey. About the Team/Service/Location BOPAS is the specialist adult addiction service for the Bay of Plenty, providing evidence-based treatment and recovery focused support for people experiencing substance use disorders. The multidisciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, DAPAANZ clinicians, peer support workers, and detox specialists who work closely with community providers, residential rehabilitation services, and mental health teams. As part of the wider Adult Community Mental Health and Addictions Service, you will benefit from strong clinical support, supervision, and opportunities for ongoing professional development. The service also facilitates treatment under the Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act, offering future opportunities for experienced clinicians to develop into Authorised Officer roles. About You You are a motivated and compassionate health professional with experience supporting people affected by addiction and mental health challenges. You bring strong assessment and therapeutic skills, work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, and are committed to helping whai ora achieve positive outcomes through recovery focused care. You are equally comfortable working independently in the community and contributing to a multidisciplinary team environment. What you will bring Registration as a Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or DAPAANZ clinician with a current Annual Practicing Certificate Experience working within mental health and addiction treatment services Strong assessment, formulation, and treatment planning skills Ability to develop therapeutic relationships and work from a harm reduction and recovery focused framework Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to culturally responsive, person-centred, and equitable care Full New Zealand drivers licence Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
