Explorer Host (Summer - fixed term, part-time)
We're gearing up for our busiest period with summer around the corner and will be employing Explorer Hosts on a fixed term part-time basis for a period of three to six months. You'll be able to start early October and work through till April 2027.

About the role
Waiheke Bus Company is on the hunt for part-time, fixed term Explorer Hosts to join us over the busy summer period (until the end of Easter). As a Explorer Host on our Explorer Hop-on Hop-off buses, you will be the first point of contact for our customers providingcommentary on the local attractions and products that Waiheke Island has to offer.
About you
For success, speaking in front of groups with confidence should come naturally. You will be passionate about customer service, thrive off customer interaction and find it easy to build rapport with our customers.
Additionally you will need great work ethic, a positive and upbeat attitude as well as great time management skills.
Preference provided towards applicants with detailed knowledge about the area.
Summer crew overview
- Intakes are Monday 28th September/Monday 12th October/Monday 2nd November (which you must attend)
- Starting and ending your shifts at the Waiheke Bus Company located on Ostend Road
- Need to be able and willing to work over the Christmas and New Year's period
- Need to be available for at least three (3) consecutive months a minimum of 18 hours per week (shift based, rotating roster)
Hours of work: (between 9am - 6pm, Monday to Sunday)
- 9-hour days starting at 9am, 9.30am or 10am as rostered
Salary and perks:
- $28.95 per hour paid weekly
