  • We invest in our people, with training and resources to keep them at the top of their game.
  • We ensure our clinicians and clinical teams receive great training and development opportunities as well as modern equipment and the technology to help them grow professionally.

If you enjoy working with patients and watching them walk out the door loving their smiles, then you will enjoy being part of the team at Lumino the Dentists.

    Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced dentist to take over an established patient base from a long-standing clinician who is retiring from practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the full breadth of general dentistry and values building trusted, long-term relationships with patients.

You will be joining a practice with loyal patients, strong clinical support, and modern digital workflows that allow you to focus on providing exceptional care.

We are particularly interested in clinicians with confidence across:

    • Restorative and adhesive dentistry, including composite and indirect bonded restorations
    • Crown and bridge dentistry
    • Molar endodontics
    • Oral surgery and emergency care
    • Management of heavily restored and ageing dentitions
    • Periodontal diagnosis and long-term maintenance planning
    • Rubber dam isolation and contemporary bonding techniques
    • Implant restoration
    • Comprehensive examination, diagnosis and treatment planning

    Think Beyond the Problem Tooth

Our philosophy is to understand the patient's broader and longer-term dental risks, rather than simply treating today's problem. Our new-patient process incorporates comprehensive examination, clinical photography and digital scanning. We value clinicians who are curious, observant and proactive, and who know when to treat, when to monitor and when to refer.

    Build Relationships That Last

Many of the patients you will inherit have been with the practice, and with the same dentist, for many years. We are therefore looking for warmth, confidence and emotional intelligence: someone who listens well, builds trust and can have thoughtful conversations about changing dental needs without making patients feel pressured or overwhelmed.

    The Opportunity

The position is 31 clinical hours per week, with an established patient base and significant opportunity to develop a busy and rewarding book through excellent diagnosis, communication and continuing care. Our retiring dentist has traditionally offered several late nights and Friday appointments. Working days are Mon-Fri, with hours negotiable.

    • Strong hygiene and periodontal maintenance programme supported by three hygienists

    • Digital intraoral scanning, clinical photography and 3D printing

    • Experienced clinical and support team with established specialist referral relationships

    • Opportunity to develop complementary areas of high-quality general dentistry

We are looking for an experienced, clinically independent dentist who wants to become an important long-term part of the practice - someone who loves the breadth of general practice and believes that great dentistry begins with great diagnosis, communication and patient relationships.

    Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will hold registration in the relevant scope with the NZ Dental Council, as well as a current Annual Practising Certificate. In addition, you will bring:

    • Confidence working independently
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
    • Strong organisational abilities and flexibility
    • IV sedation experience (highly regarded)
    • Invisalign experience (welcome)
    • Implant placement experience (desirable but not essential)

    Additional Information

If you're looking to inherit a loyal patient base, practise high-quality comprehensive dentistry, and become part of a respected long-standing practice, we'd love to have a confidential conversation.
