Job Description

We\'re looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our Auckland Maintenance team and help keep Auckland\'s power network running safely and reliably. About The Role We\'re looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our Auckland Maintenance team and help keep Auckland\'s power network running safely and reliably. Working in a substation environment, you\'ll carry out maintenance, fault finding, switching, outage planning, and electrical fitting activities across high-voltage equipment. This role operates on a rotating roster of day and night shifts, with occasional weekend work required to support planned outages and network operations. You\'ll be involved in: Maintaining and servicing HV electrical equipment in substations Carrying out electrical fitting work to industry and regulatory standards Performing HV and LV network switching activities Planning and coordinating outages to meet client requirements Troubleshooting faults and resolving network issues Completing accurate records, reporting, and documentation Working closely with Control, Dispatch, customers, contractors, and internal teams Supporting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that delivers essential services to the community. You'll bring: Fully Registered NZ Electrician Current EWRB Practising Licence Electrical Fitter experience Network switching experience Full Class 1 New Zealand Driver\'s Licence Experience working in substations or HV electrical environments Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills A proactive approach to problem-solving Good verbal and written communication skills The ability to work independently and as part of a team A professional and respectful approach when dealing with customers and members of the public Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship A genuine commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards Most importantly, you\'re reliable, professional, safety-focused, and enjoy working with great people to keep critical infrastructure running for the communities we serve.
