Sommerville School is a leading specialist school based in Panmure, with satellite classrooms across 15 mainstream schools, a community programme for young adults aged 18 to 21, and a dedicated Outreach Service. We support students aged 5 to 21 with complex communication, learning, physical, and behavioural needs. You’ll work alongside teacher aides, therapists, and specialists to deliver meaningful, individualised learning programmes. What we’re looking for: We're looking for a reflective, culturally responsive teacher who values relationships, collaboration, and learner-centred practice. Experience in specialist or inclusive education is an advantage, but passion, adaptability, and a commitment to making a difference matter most. A relevant teaching qualification and current Teaching Council practising certificate are required. A current full New Zealand driver licence is preferred. Salary and conditions align with the Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement ($62,862–$105,686), plus allowances. Applications close 11 September 2026.
