Job Description
Mō te tūnga | About the role As the Recruiting Selections Coordinator, you will be responsible for the organisational administration of Selection Boards for NZDF. Selection Boards are assessment events that help determine which shortlisted candidates will move forward into military careers and specialist opportunities within the NZDF. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to positively influence outcomes while working with a wide range of stakeholders. A typical day could include the following: Collating and preparing paperwork for Selection Boards Liaising with staff within Army, Navy and Air Force to coordinate Selection Boards Supporting intake administration and maintaining candidate records and reporting Working closely with Candidate Engagement Facilitators to support candidate readiness and progression through the recruitment process Communicating selection decisions to military recruiting staff to pass on to their candidates Flexible working options, including up to 2 days working from home once established in the role. There may be opportunities to travel to NZDF camps and bases throughout New Zealand to support selection activities. The salary band for this role starts at $70,187 with a midpoint of $77,865 inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience. Security Clearance and Eligibility Please Note: To be eligible for the required level of government security clearance with the NZ Defence Force, you need to meet certain citizenship and residency criteria. Below are the requirements: Low Level Security Clearance You must be a NewZealand citizen or you must hold NewZealand Permanent Residence or have a current NewZealand Residency Class Visa. At minimum, you must hold NewZealand Permanent Residence or have a current NewZealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or NewZealand continuously for the last five (5) years. You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
