Job Description

HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. We are involved with a variety of projects from road construction and maintenance through to earthworks, drainage, marine works, and major projects of national significance. We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Invercargill on a fixed term contract. Initially till April 2027 with a potential extension till the end of 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our civil construction team on a one of its kind project in Invercargill that you want on yiour resume. About You You'll bring: At least three years’ experience in a construction health and safety environment Formal Health and Safety Qualification Proven experience in investigations, monitoring, training, and coaching Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a wide range of audiences A collaborative, team-focused approach Key Responsibilities Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Providing effective health and safety support and advice across the project Leading and supporting high-quality incident investigations Building strong relationships with managers, workers, and subcontractors Delivering health and safety training across the project Conducting site inspections and providing monitoring and coaching Collating performance data and maintaining regional reporting What we offer At HEB, you're not just joining a team, you're joining a workplace that genuinely looks out for you.
