About the role NZBS is looking for a part time Qualified Donor Technician/Phlebotomist(or someone on the pathway to becoming a Qualified Donor Technician/Phlebotomist) in our Blood & Plasma Donation Centre in Christchurch. At NZBS, Donor Technicians/Phlebotomists work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and are key members of the Collections team, undertaking blood collection and a number of administrative duties. As our donors are healthy and go out of their way to give up their time to donate blood, customer service is key to ensuring the donors are provided with a donation experience that encourages their continued support. You will be based in our hub at Lester Lane with opportunities to work at our satellite site on Tuam Street. To add variety to your role our Mobile Blood Drive locations are local and South Island wide. Trips requiring short stays away occur approximately once per month. Occasional statutory holiday duties may also be required. Flexibility is key! Salary offered - $64,244 to $82,503 depending on skills, registration, and experience. About you We are looking for hardworking and values-driven people who are full or provisionally qualified as a Donor Technician/Phlebotomist (Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician/MLPAT) with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand. We will consider applications, if you are or have previously worked as a Phlebotomist, but are not yet provisionally or fully qualified. Ideally you are: Wanting a challenge People-focused Flexible to work rostered shifts and travel frequently on Mobile Blood Drives and overnight stays for up to a week.
