3029 - Bin Contamination Inspector - Dunedin

Our Dunedin based operation is made up of a large municipal collection contract which includes transfer stations in Middlemarch and Waikouaiti, residential kerbside collections along with the CBD are and a diverse range of commercial business contracts across Dunedin and the wider area. To aid us in supporting the community and diverting all recycling away from the landfill, we have a newly created role for a Bin contamination Inspector to join a second Bin contamination inspector already in place, and our Dunedin team. The team is growing in size and can offer a supportive team environment, long-term career opportunities, and a company vehicle for use while carrying out your role. This role will be responsible for undertaking inspections of the content of residential household organics and recycling bins to ensure that there is no contamination. The role will see you reporting directly to our Education and Waste Minimisation Advisor, the council and the Municipal Manager. Working in the customer eye and communicating closely with the public daily, we require high levels of professionalism at all times and also the ability to provide monthly reporting to meet contractual agreements. What we’re looking for Someone with a passion for sustainability and recycling practices A full class 1 driving licence Is physically fit – the role involves walking many k’s per day and working in a variety of weather Experience within the Waste or Recycling industry is preferred however full training is provided Self-management and the ability to work with various stakeholders Approachable, resilient, and customer-focussed The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Pre-Employment Health Assessment (including drugs test) and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, the results of which must be to Enviro NZ’s satisfaction.
