Bathing Water Technician

Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role We have a great opportunity for a Bathing Water Technician to work with our laboratory and sampling services team, helping collect samples for our bathing water monitoring programme within the Bay of Plenty region. As a Bathing Water Technician, you will: Drive to and collect samples from multiple coastal and inland recreational bathing water sites. Promptly report results to public health, local authorities, and LAWA Provide client service delivery Collect, report and deliver service through some of the Christmas holidays Other duties, as assigned Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience We are looking for a motivated individual who loves driving and is looking to gain experience in sample collection and reporting. You will bring: NCEA Level 2 or equivalent, ideally studying towards a Level 6 Diploma in a science related discipline (preferred) A reasonable level of physical fitness Current driver's licence and sound driving skills (full licence preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills and great team ethic Experience with electronic document management systems would be ideal, but not essential Ko wai mātou | Who we are Toi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council is responsible for land, air and water as well as public transport and economic development.
