Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Middle leadership Science 1 Management Unit We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and experienced educator to lead our physics department within our vibrant and supportive science faculty starting in January 2027. The successful applicant will lead the teaching and learning of physics across NCEA Levels 2–3, as well as contributing to Level 1 and junior science. You will be passionate about inspiring students in STEM, fostering a culture of academic curiosity, and supporting staff within the physics area. Key responsibilities and attributes Exemplary classroom teaching with strong subject expertise in senior physics across NCEA Levels 1–3. Experience with NZQA Scholarship Physics is a distinct advantage. Ability to lead curriculum delivery, assessment, and alignment with the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. A commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi in teaching practices. Strong collaborative, organisational, and middle-management leadership skills. Ability to integrate digital technology and practical, inquiry-based learning into the physics curriculum. Willingness to contribute to the wider co-curricular life of the school.
