Job Description
Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Syndicate leader English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts 1PMU (with possibility of additional PMU or Cultural Allowance) Ruahine School is seeking a team leader for 2027 to lead either our middle or senior school. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey while continuing to make a difference in the classroom. Our team leaders will be members of our leadership team alongside the principal and deputy principal. They will have leadership responsibility for a small team of two classrooms, including their own, supporting high-quality teaching and learning, learner progress and wellbeing, and the effective day-to-day organisation of the team. The successful applicant will be passionate about working alongside colleagues, sharing effective practice, building positive relationships with tamariki, staff and whānau, and contributing to the wider leadership and ongoing improvement of our school. We are looking for a positive, organised and reflective teacher who demonstrates excellent classroom practice, works collaboratively with others, is keen to grow as a leader, and is excited about making learning engaging and meaningful for our tamariki. Above all, they will be committed to ensuring every learner experiences success and to contributing positively to the vision and values of Ruahine School. The position carries one permanent management unit and provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps into formal school leadership. There may also be an opportunity for an additional permanent management unit for Mathematics leadership or permanent cultural allowance for a suitably experienced and interested applicant.
