Aboutthe Role Ourteam at Waikari Hospital are seeking an experienced and adaptable RegisteredNurse to join us on a casual contract. Thisis a varied rural nursing role where you will provide high-quality,person-centred care to patients with a diverse range of health needs. Workingas a sole charge practitioner, you will use your clinical judgement and nursingexpertise across aged care, rehabilitation, respite, general medical andpalliative care. Youwill work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team while also having theconfidence to work autonomously, assess changing patient needs and make soundclinical decisions. Ourservice operates Monday to Sunday, with casual shifts offered as required toprovide cover for on-call, annual leave and sick leave. This opportunity wouldsuit a Registered Nurse who enjoys variety, values strong relationships withpatients and whānau, and is confident working within a rural healthcareenvironment. Aboutthe Service WaikariHospital is located in Waikari Village, approximately one hour's drive north ofChristchurch on State Highway 1 and inland from Waipara. Setin beautiful grounds overlooking the Alps, Waikari Hospital plays an importantrole in supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community and thewider rural district. Our service provides continuing care of the elderly,general medical care, surgical rehabilitation, carer support, respite care andpalliative care. Our10-bed hospital offers a close-knit and supportive working environment, with ateam made up of Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Cooks, ActivitiesCoordinators and Maintenance/Gardeners. As part of our small rural team, youwill have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients,whānau and colleagues while providing care across a broad range of clinicalneeds. AboutYou Youwill be a confident and compassionate Registered Nurse who is comfortableworking both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You willbring sound clinical judgement, adaptability and a genuine commitment toproviding high-quality care.
