Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Fire Engineer located in Canterbury, New Zealand. The Fire Engineer will be responsible for fire engineering design of buildings. Day-to-day tasks will include preparation of fire reports, attending design meetings and liaising with design teams, assessing existing buildings, coordinating with construction teams, construction monitoring of projects, and providing expert advice on fire engineering and fire safety regulations. Requirements Your application will be based on your ability to consult in the NZ environment. Knowing the correct answer or running a model is only 30% of the job the other 70% is being able to communicate what that means, and helping a design team turn that result into an easy to construct building. 4 years experience in the New Zealand construction and fire engineering industries experience applying the products and systems used in NZ buildings As consultants we require a strong ability to translate engineering analysis and calculations into practical advice and recommendations for our clients. Knowledge of the NZBC and related legislation. Experience in applying C/AS2 and C/VM2 methodologies. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
