Whānau Support Specialist

Working alongside the Alcohol and other Drugs Treatment Court (AODTC) for around 9 years the AODTC team at Odyssey has supported hundreds of participants through their recovery journeys. We are now seeking a full-time permanent Whanau Support Specialist, working Monday to Friday, to join our dedicated team. The key purpose of this role is to assist family/whānau of AODTC participants to become more actively involved in their recovery by walking alongside them and providing culturally safe and effective support. You will also work collaboratively with other members of the AODTC team to deliver a high quality and responsive service to all stakeholders. Ideally you will have: At least 1 year's relevant experience, including experience of working with whānau in a health care setting Lived experience of supporting a whānau member through a journey from alcohol, other drugs and/or mental health issues into recovery A relevant qualification and/or training in peer or whānau support is desirable, or commensurate relevant experience Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to this role Full Current New Zealand Drivers Licence And most importantly, a passion for supporting people to make positive changes in their lives In return, we can offer you: Salary $63,544 - $71,697 depending on qualifications and experience 5 days paid study leave, 22 days annual leave and an annual meal allowance A $2000 per annum location allowance on top of your salary A dynamic and supportive team who are passionate about what we do.
