Medical Laboratory Scientist - Immunology Are you a Medical Laboratory Scientist looking to developyour career within a specialised diagnostic Immunology service? Christchurch Health Laboratories (CHL) is seeking amotivated and enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Immunologyteam. Our diagnostic Immunology section supports clinicians in the diagnosisand management of patients with conditions resulting from disorders of theimmune system, including autoimmunity, autoinflammation, allergy, and primaryand secondary immunodeficiency. About the role As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will provide ahigh-quality laboratory science service through the collection, receipt,preparation, investigation and analysis of human biological samples, supportingpatient diagnosis, management and treatment. You will perform a range of immunological testing andanalysis, including: ELISAand CLIA Manualand automated laboratory assays You will also contribute to quality processes and regulatoryrequirements, including maintaining laboratory accreditation to ISO 15189. Youmay also have opportunities to support method changes, verification and othercontinuous improvement initiatives. Working as part of a supportive and professional team, youwill be encouraged to participate in training and ongoing professionaldevelopment, while contributing to a positive culture and high standards oflaboratory practice. About you You will be a motivated and detail-focused MedicalLaboratory Scientist who takes pride in delivering accurate, high-qualityresults and enjoys working in a specialised laboratory environment. You will have: Registrationas a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of NewZealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) Theability to maintain a high professional standard in line with thecompetence standards for Medical Laboratory Scientists Laboratoryexperience in Immunology testing and techniques Stronganalytical skills and excellent attention to detail Theability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Experienceworking within an IANZ-accredited laboratory is desirable Experiencewith indirect immunofluorescence reading and flow cytometry would be anadvantage Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
