We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Director of Service, Missions and Student Leadership starting January 2027.
Located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast of Auckland, KingsWay is a high achieving, growing, state integrated Christian school catering for Year 1-13 students, with a current roll of over 2000 students. Our staff are supportive and collaborative, and our work is inspired by love/aroha, heartened by faith/whakapono in Jesus Christ, and motivated by gospel hope//tumanako.
About the Role
This unique leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about developing servant leadership and creating meaningful opportunities for students to live out their faith through service and mission. Working across both campuses, you will provide strategic leadership for the development of a strong culture of Christian service, missions, and student leadership throughout the school.
The role sits within the school's Senior Leadership Team and carries 3 units. The teaching allocation is 0.3 FTE with the remaining 0.7 FTE dedicated to the Director of Service, Missions, and Student Leadership responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic oversight and development of the school's service, missions, and student leadership programmes.
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with churches, community organisations, and mission agencies.
- Facilitating high-quality service and mission opportunities that align with KingsWay's Christian special character.
- Leading communication, promotion, and celebration of service and mission initiatives across the school community.
- Supporting Wider Learning opportunities and overseeing the wellbeing and safety of students involved in service and mission activities.
The successful applicant will:
- Actively support and model the special character of KingsWay School.
- Demonstrate proven leadership experience in education, ministry, service-learning, missions, or youth development contexts.
- Have excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, parents, churches, and community partners.
- Be passionate about developing young people as servant leaders who positively impact their communities.
- Be an organised and strategic thinker capable of leading programmes, managing events, and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
An important condition of employment is that applicants must have a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the Special Christian Character of KingsWay School. You will enjoy contributing and promoting a biblically informed, Christ-centred worldview, including how this translates to supporting and growing our students' faith, and will protect and enhance our Christian character.
