AUT’s Department of Marketing and International Business AUT’s Department of Marketing and International Business sits within our dynamic Business School , known for its strong research and postgraduate supervision culture, external grant success and vibrant PhD and Master's programmes (including the newly launched Master of Global Business alongside Master of Marketing - both featuring Applied Business Project capstones). The department contributes to both supervisions of Work-Integrated Learning projects and MBA and Online MBA teaching, aligning with AUT’s mission as New Zealand’s only university of technology by prioritising student success, industry readiness, technological capability and a global mindset. We have a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) opportunity for a motivated Senior Lecturer of International Business to make significant impact and develop their career in teaching, research and service. You’ll teach across programmes as assigned by the Head of Department, particularly in the new Master of Global Business coursework taught master’s programme, which also includes a capstone Applied Business Project. You will also contribute to programme and course development, including in areas related to curriculum -development and assessment design. We embrace practice-led, as well as research-informed, approaches to teaching centered on the student experience and real-world applied learning. You will be expected to publish in top-tier journals (i.e., A and A* in the ABDC ranking or ABS3 and above in the CABS rankings), supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research and actively seek and attract external research funding. You will provide mentorship to colleagues in both research and teaching, contribute to School and Faculty activities, and show openness to take up a future substantial leadership role as opportunities arise. Experience supporting indigenous, equity, or inclusion focused initiatives is highly desirable. The selection criteria sought are: 1. Qualifications: A PhD in International Business, International Management or Global Strategy. Professional experience in industry, government, or international organisations is strongly preferred. 2. Teaching: Extensive lecturing experience, evidence of curriculum development and preferably experience supervising Master's and/or PhD students. Experience leading applied projects, executive education, consultancy, or work-integrated learning initiatives is strongly preferred. 3. Research: An established research programme and proven research track record in top-tier publications. Success in external funding bids is desirable. Evidence of securing or contributing to external research income is desirable. Further Information: Start Date: The successful candidate would join AUT no later than February 2027 (to be agreed). Term: The successful candidate will secure a permanent, full-time academic appointment. Salary Ranges: $115,908 to $151,557 (appointment level and salary will be commensurate with skills and experience of the successful candidate).
