Our mahi (work) is organised around the delivery of our three core services: Environmental Regulation and Protection Community Preparedness and Response to Hazards Public Transport Council plays an important role in responding to national legislation and policy changes – this mahi is part of our operating environment and is embedded in our everyday mahi. The current proposals from central government are significant, and Council is working through the opportunities and implications. However, our mahi must continue to deliver our three core services for our partners, communities and te taiao (environment). This specialist role combines payroll systemsexpertise, workforce analytics, reporting and data insight capabilities to ensure our payroll practicesremainaccurate,compliantand fit for purpose while delivering meaningful workforce insights that support organisational decision-making. Working within our People, Safety and Wellbeing team,you'llwork across payroll, people systems and workforce data toidentifytrends, improve reporting, strengthen compliance, andprovideevidence-based insights that support leaders to make informed workforce decisions. Key accountabilities: Provide expert analysis and interpretation of payroll and workforce data Translate complex payroll, workforce, and legislative information into clear, actionable insights Lead the effective use and optimisation of payroll systems, ensuring data integrity andaccurate, compliant payroll outcomes. Develop andmaintainworkforce reporting, dashboards and analytics thatidentifytrends,risksand opportunities across the employee lifecycle. You'rea naturally curious and analytical professional who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and uncovering insights through data.You bring strong payroll systems and compliance knowledge together with advanced analytical, reporting and data interpretation skills. You enjoy turning data into insights,identifyingopportunities for improvement, and partnering with stakeholders to influence positive business outcomes. You'll have: Strong capability in developing dashboards, visualisations and reports that communicate meaningful business insights. Knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail The ability to communicate complex data and payroll concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders You’llhave a degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related disciplinealong with: At least 7 years' experience working with payroll systems, payroll data, and workforce analytics Previousexperienceleading the development ofdashboards,visualisationsand metrics to support workforce planning, organisationalperformanceand people decision-making.
