About the Role This 0.8 FTE position will support the Assertive Outreach Team to encourage an environment where staff are engaged and performing at their potential to provide quality evidence-based outcomes for the people who access the Community Mental Health and Addiction Services. About the Team/Service/ Location The Assertive Outreach Team works to provide mental health community follow up treatment and support and the delivery of assertive community treatment and care for a challenging to engage with group of service user/tangata whaiora living in the community. This position provides you with the opportunity to work with a variety of community agencies and services also involved in the community treatment and care. For more information on living and working in Whanganui click here About you You must be able to demonstrate that you are registered with (or working towards) a regulatory body of New Zealand and that your scope of practice enables you to undertake the duties of this position. Requirements for this position are: The ability to demonstrate high levels of clinical knowledge in mental health disorders, psychiatric and addiction medications, and the management of risk. Practice based therapeutic modes of intervention in a person centred, family friendly, recovery model. Three years minimum experience working with case load management, identifying co-existing problems and delivering clinical and psychosocial care in a variety of community settings and proven practical experience as a registered health professional in mental health and addiction clinical settings, adult addiction and co-existing problems in mental health is preferred. High levels of communication, customer relations and managing diversity skills, empathy and bi-cultural sensitivity. be a duly authorised officer or willing to complete the training be a provider of educational and community information that is supportive of the needs to the service users/tangata whaiora and their family/whanau. Competent computer skills in Microsoft word and ability to learn computer software packages quickly, a police clearance and current clean driver's license are also required.
