Job Description

We are currently partnering with a well-established independent wealth management and investment advisory firm to appoint an Associate Financial Adviser to join its Whangārei-based team. This opportunity is ideally suited to an ambitious financial services professional looking to establish a long-term career in wealth management. Working alongside experienced advisers, you'll receive direct mentorship while developing the technical expertise, client relationships and commercial skills needed to become a trusted Financial Adviser. With a strong reputation, loyal client base and consistent growth, the firm has built its success on delivering personalised, independent advice tailored to each client's circumstances. It is also investing heavily in technology, data and artificial intelligence to enhance investment research, portfolio management and the overall client experience, creating a unique opportunity to be part of a modern and forward-thinking advisory business. Initially, you'll focus on providing KiwiSaver and investment advice while supporting senior advisers in the management of their existing client portfolios. As your experience develops, you'll progressively take on responsibility for larger and more complex client relationships, while also being supported to build and manage your own client portfolio over time. The role offers exposure to: Providing personalised KiwiSaver and investment advice Developing investment plans and conducting portfolio reviews Building trusted relationships with individuals, families and business owners Investment research, portfolio construction and financial market analysis Direct mentorship from experienced Financial Advisers Technology, data and AI initiatives that are helping shape the future of financial advice We're interested in speaking with candidates who have approximately two to six years' experience within wealth management/financial advice, private or commercial banking, investments or the broader financial services sector. You'll have a genuine interest in investment markets, enjoy building long-term client relationships and be motivated to develop your career within an independent advisory business. A relevant tertiary qualification and the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5 - Investments), or progress towards obtaining it, will be advantageous.
