Mō te Tūranga | About the Role We're looking for an experienced strategy professional to help shape the future direction of IAG New Zealand. As a trusted adviser to senior leaders, you'll provide insight, structure and constructive challenge to help guide key business decisions. You’ll identify material opportunities and risks, develop clear strategic options and support informed decision-making and alignment across the business. You’ll thrive in ambiguity, turning complex problems into clear, actionable recommendations. Combining strategic thinking, commercial insight and stakeholder influence, you'll help drive meaningful business outcomes. This is an opportunity to work at the centre of decision‑making, partnering with executive leaders on some of IAG NZ's most important priorities. This is a permanent full‑time role based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). Ngā Mahi Hei Whakatutuki Māu | What You'll Do Support the development and ongoing refinement of IAG NZ’s strategic roadmap and long‑term business priorities. Lead complex strategic projects from problem definition through analysis, recommendation and executive decision‑making. Structure ambiguous problems, synthesise complex information and develop clear strategic options and practical recommendations. Conduct financial analysis, market and trend research, business modelling and scenario analysis to assess opportunities, risks and strategic choices. Develop concise, compelling and decision‑oriented materials for the executive leadership team, board and other senior audiences. Design and facilitate strategy sessions that enable constructive challenge, alignment and clear decisions. Build trusted relationships across IAG to draw out insights, influence decisions and support strategic alignment. Ōu Pūkenga me ōu Wheako | What You'll Bring At least two years’ experience in strategy consulting, an in‑house strategy role or an equivalent strategy‑focused position. Eight or more years’ broader business experience. Experience in financial services, insurance or another complex regulated industry will be highly regarded. Strong structured problem‑solving and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, practical recommendations. Experience leading complex strategic work across multiple business units, from problem definition through to recommendation and executive decision‑making. Ability to engage credibly with senior executives, facilitate strategic discussions, challenge ideas constructively and build alignment across diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the preparation of concise, decision‑oriented materials for senior audiences. Strong quantitative, financial and commercial capability, including experience developing models, business cases and scenario analyses. Confidence using modern analytical and AI‑enabled tools to improve the quality and efficiency of research, analysis, modelling and insight generation.
