Location: Taumarunui, King Country, New Zealand Role: Mixed Animal Veterinarian Position Type: Permanent, Full-time A well-established veterinary practice in Taumarunui is seeking a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join its supportive team. This role would suit a veterinarian with experience across sheep and beef practice who also enjoys companion animal work. You’ll work across both production and companion animals, providing veterinary services to farming clients throughout the King Country while also caring for a local companion animal client base. What's on offer: Permanent, full-time opportunity 40-hour working week Mixed animal caseload across production and companion animals Sheep and beef work with companion animal opportunities Supportive and collaborative veterinary team Strong focus on professional development and ongoing learning Modern veterinary tools and technology Competitive remuneration & KiwiSaver contribution Flexible approach to supporting work-life balance Rostered Saturdays Shared on-call roster, generally around 1 in 5 weekends or less, plus 1 weeknight Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality veterinary care across production and companion animals Conduct routine herd health, fertility and disease prevention programmes Perform surgical procedures and clinical treatments Support farmers with animal health and farm performance Develop strong, long-term relationships with farming and companion animal clients Participate in the Saturday and after-hours roster Continue developing your clinical skills through CPD and professional development Requirements: BVSc or equivalent, with registration (or eligibility) in New Zealand Previous experience in mixed animal practice Experience with sheep and beef veterinary work Confident with companion animal consultations and surgery Strong clinical skills across general practice Comfortable managing complex cases Genuine interest in continuing to develop your skills across both large and small animal practice #J-18808-Ljbffr
