About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physiotherapist to join our NewZealand Pelvic Mesh Service team at Christchurch Hospital.This is afixed-term position for 1 year. As the first person coming into this role inthe service, we are looking for someone who is passionate about setting up aservice that will best meet the needs of the community, and confident in setting upa referral and triage process and working through any challenges that come withsetting up a new role. We anticipate this role will evolve and grow with thesuccessful applicant.This advanced practice role provides expert assessment, treatment, andclinical management for women experiencing complications associated with pelvicmesh procedures. Working within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you willplay a key role in supporting women with complex pelvic health presentations,including pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder and bowel symptoms,sexual dysfunction, and functional limitations related to mesh complications.This is an exciting opportunity to work at an advanced level within a highly specialised service, contributing to clinical excellence, servicedevelopment, education, and improved outcomes for wāhine across Te Waipounamu. Key Responsibilities Provide advanced physiotherapy assessment and managementfor women with pelvic mesh-related complications Deliver evidence-based treatment for pelvic floordysfunction, persistent pelvic pain, bladder and bowel symptoms, and sexualdysfunction Develop individualised rehabilitation plans to supportfunction, participation, and quality of life Work collaboratively with gynaecologists,urogynaecologists, pain specialists, psychologists, nurses, and other alliedhealth professionals Provide expert clinical advice and consultation tophysiotherapy colleagues and multidisciplinary teams Contribute to service development, quality improvementinitiatives, and clinical pathway development Support education, mentoring, and capability developmentwithin women's health physiotherapy Promote equitable, culturally responsive care aligned withTe Tiriti o Waitangi principles About You You will bring: Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of NewZealand and a current APC Significant clinical experience in women's health andpelvic health physiotherapy Advanced skills in pelvic floor assessment andrehabilitation Experience managing complex pelvic pain and pelvic floordysfunction Strong clinical reasoning and expertise in managingcomplex presentations Excellent communication, education, and interdisciplinarycollaboration skills The ability to work autonomously while contributingeffectively to a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professionaldevelopment and evidence-based practice An understanding of the significance of and obligationsunder Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including the ability to apply Te Tiritiprinciples in a meaningful way within your practice Postgraduate qualifications in women's health, pelvic health, pain management,or advanced clinical practice are highly desirable.
