Permanent, Full-time role Based in North Shore Are you a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse wanting to work in one of New Zealands newest and most advanced Adult Acute Inpatient Units? About Us He Puna Waiora meaning "a pool of wellness" is a 40 bed Adult Acute Inpatient Unit designed to provide a high level of flexibility in the use of acute beds. There area number of sensory & comfort rooms with multiple lounges, relaxation and programme spaces for service users. We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Educator,who will have a primary focus on delivering a clinical education to nurses, mental health care assistants and allied health. About the role This role will provide an opportunity for you to apply your skills in working collaboratively with others to provide education to new graduate nurses and less experienced staff in orientation, coaching and role modelling, follow up of audits and implementing and identified areas/practice. You will also develop a coordinated in-service schedule and provide training to staff in metabolic screening, lead the facilitation of SPEC, Safewards and Smoke Free whilst providing support and role modelling to staff on the floor. This role also involves some workforce development planning, working with governance, clinical and consumer groups, to identify where our workforce capability and competence can be strengthened through education initiatives. About You As a member of the Adult Inpatient Leadership Team you will report to the Charge Nurse Manager, and be supported by a small group of experienced colleagues involved in education, quality and improvement and senior nursing. You will have a background in clinical practice and clinical experience within adult mental health services. You will demonstrate excellent relationship skills, and excellent oral, written and presentation skills. You will be motivated and ready to apply your skills and enthusiasm for supporting others to grow their knowledge and skills, and to support our services to deliver quality health outcomes.
