Social & Content Specialist

Hey there! Are you a strategic, story-obsessed social media whiz who knows a good hook when you see one? The Creatives is New Plymouth's established design, marketing and web development studio. We're a close-knit team building jaw-dropping brands, scroll-stopping content and epic websites for start-ups and well established businesses locally in Taranaki and across New Zealand and Australia. We're verified Squarespace and Shopify partners, but our clients come to us for the content that makes their brand impossible to scroll past. We need a smart and savvy Content Creator to join the crew. This role is about strategy and client relationships first – you'll plan campaigns, sit with clients, and brief our in-house videographer and photographer for the polished stuff. In between, you'll grab your phone and shoot quick, authentic UGC-style content yourself. If you understand how content actually moves people from “who's this?” to “take my money,” keep reading. WHAT YOU'LL DO Plan content calendars and campaigns directly with clients Be the day-to-day social media contact for a portfolio of clients Write briefs and shot lists, and direct our videographer and photographer Write captions and hooks with personality, not templates Create content that works at every stage of the funnel, from first impression to loyal customer OUR DREAM TEAM MEMBER... Lives and breathes social media and content strategy Experience with paid social ads (Meta/TikTok) Is confident presenting ideas and building trust with clients Basic video editing for quick turnarounds (CapCut, Edits or similar) Has copywriting chops – you know a good hook when you write one Gets the modern marketing funnel and why strategy matters, not just content Is happy shooting casual content on their phone – we've got a videographer and photographer for the high-end stuff, so this isn't about gear Can juggle multiple clients and brand voices without losing the plot Works well solo and in a team, and doesn't need hand-holding to get things done BONUS POINTS Adobe know-how Squarespace/Shopify experience a bonus PERKS Flexible working hours – get the work done, we don't mind when 4 Day Work week – we’ve been harnessing this proven work life balance since 2023 Mobile phone allowance & laptop included Yearly professional development allowance to grow & upskill Small, knowledgeable, supportive team A creativity led workspace Big believers in culture – team lunches and the occasional afternoon beer Studio based close to NP central - food, gym + walkway nearby Daily coffee and Coke Zero fix THE DETAILS Full-time, permanent, based in our New Plymouth studio Salary: $55,000–$65,000 NZD, based on experience Applications close 21st August 2026..
