Job Description

Develop, maintain and optimise integrated work programmes and schedules, including dependencies and critical paths Plan and forecast work programmes across multiple infrastructure disciplines Maintain an 18–24-month rolling workbank plan and forecast labour, plant and material requirements Prepare financial and delivery forecasts and monitor performance against plan Coordinate with Finance, Production and Asset teams to align budgets, schedules and delivery Analyse actual costs and timeframes against planned estimates and identify variances Coordinate resources and resolve scheduling conflicts Liaise with Network Integration and Isolation Planners to ensure track access and isolations are in place Facilitate weekly planning meetings, document actions and ensure follow-up Distribute weekly work schedules and keep stakeholders informed of changes Identify risks, constraints and critical pinch points and develop mitigations and contingency plans Produce monthly reports for governance, senior management and external reporting requirements Use data and insights to improve productivity, efficiency, cost and delivery timeframes Support consistent planning standards, processes and best practice across regions Promote a proactive safety culture and embed safety in planning and scheduling activities Requirements Significant experience in planning, monitoring and forecasting project or work activities, preferably within infrastructure or rail Experience developing and maintaining integrated programme schedules Strong analytical and forecasting skills, including interpreting data and identifying trends, risks and variances Experience analysing actual costs and timeframes against planned estimates Experience using P6, Microsoft Project and Excel Experience conducting risk assessments and contributing to risk registers Strong reporting skills, including preparing reports for governance and external stakeholders Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships across multiple teams and levels Proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach Commercial awareness and understanding of how planning decisions affect cost and delivery Ability to adapt and respond effectively in a dynamic operational environment Commitment to diversity, inclusion and creating a positive workplace Current and valid Full New Zealand Driver Licence; restricted Driver Licence may be considered Ability and willingness to travel nationally as required Ability to pass regular drug and alcohol screening Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in planning, monitoring, and forecasting project activities within infrastructure, utilizing tools like P6 and Microsoft Project.
