Nurse Coordinator - Nursing Workforce Development

Aboutthe Role Wehave a wonderful opportunity for a senior nurse to join the Nursing WorkforceDevelopment Team (NWDT) as a Nurse Coordinator. TheNurse Coordinator shares accountability and works in partnership with the NWDTand Manager, Chief of Nursing, and Directors of Nursing to implement Health NewZealand's current nursing workforce direction and workplan. Thisrole is a 0.8FTE (32 hours per week) fixed-term position available due toparental leave from 31/08/2026 - 11/09/2027. Shifts are scheduled across Monday' Friday. Youwill be responsible for: Collaborates with the NWDT and Recruitment teams tofacilitate and deliver the Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP)Programme Delivery Leading nursing career promotion initiatives, includingparticipation in secondary school career expos and other recruitmentactivities. Involvement in the project management and delivery ofspecialist nursing initiatives across Health New Zealand CanterburyWaitaha, such as collaborating on the implementation of the Fundamentalsof Nursing Care programme. Aboutthe Service TheNursing Workforce Development Team (NWDT)focuses ondeveloping thenursing workforce within Health New Zealand Canterbury Waitaha. AboutYou Senior nurse with more than 5 years nursing experience Holds a relevant post-graduate qualification, minimum apost graduate diploma (or near completion) in Nursing, and/or AdultTeaching and Learning. Demonstrated knowledge of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi andcommitment to addressing inequity for Māori Commitment to quality, patient safety processesthroughout the organisation Ability to advancing and meeting the health systemneeds in relation to the nursing workforce Experience in leading change and service qualityimprovement initiatives Experience leading health innovation to enabletransformational change to be implemented and operationalised. Broad clinical practice in nursing and clinicalteaching experience across the health sector.
