Photography and Visual Art Teacher - Commencing 2027 Full time, Permanent Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher The arts We are seeking a permanent, fulltime photography and visual art teacher to commence in Term 1, 2027. As a teacher of photography and visual art, you will create a positive, creative and engaging learning environment that supports the diverse learning needs of all students and will also play a key role in supporting student progress through assessment, feedback and mentoring. Deliver engaging photography programmes to students across appropriate year levels Plan and implement effective lessons using varied and innovative pedagogies Develop students' technical skills in photography, including camera operation, composition, lighting, image development and digital editing Encourage students to explore creative concepts and develop their own photographic style and visual voice Use digital technologies including Office 365 and relevant photography software to support teaching, learning and assessment Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing constructive feedback Maintain effective classroom management and a positive, inclusive and creative learning environment Support students undertaking NCEA photography and other relevant visual arts pathways Participate in departmental meetings and professional development Undertake the Kaiārahi role, mentoring a small group of students and supporting their academic pathways Contribute positively to wider school life, including extracurricular and creative opportunities You will bring: A recognised teaching qualification and current NZ teacher registration Strong curriculum knowledge and effective teaching practice in photography and visual art Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary photographic practice and digital photography Confidence using digital photography equipment, editing software and other relevant technologies Experience or understanding of NCEA photography assessment and achievement standards Excellent organisational, communication and classroom management skills The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and whānau Creativity, enthusiasm and a commitment to developing students' confidence and artistic expression A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development #J-18808-Ljbffr
