Clinical Nurse Specialist - Diabetes

We are looking for an experienced senior registered nurse who, has a passion for diabetes, and preferably is a Registered Nurse prescriber for a fixed term 12 month position commencing November 2026. You will be running your own nurse-led clinics for people with diabetes aged 15 and over, predominantly Type 1 but also some with complex Type 2 Diabetes. The position will be based in Hamilton with travel to community clinics. You will be required to provide diabetes education, to patients and their whanau, other health care providers, and assist with insulin pump training courses for your patients locally. Te Whatu Ora Waikato Regional Diabetes Service provides secondary level care to those within the Waikato Region. This expands as far as Coromandel, Taumarunui, Te Kauwhata and the Raglan coast. We have a large multi-disciplinary team and promote a positive approach to teamwork. Skills and experience youll need to be considered for the role:

• Minimum of five years post graduate experience

• Experience working with people with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes

• Post graduate diploma /Registered Nurse prescriber
\n
• Passion for working with people with diabetes and their whanau
\n
• Ability to apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi to improve health outcomes and equity for Māori.

• Full drivers licence
