THREE WEEKS. ONE PROJECT. THEN HOME. Tradestaff Global is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced engineering tradespeople for a one-off shutdown project in Australia. If you’ve got solid shutdown, industrial or heavy maintenance experience and you’re keen to put in a big few weeks away, this could be a great short-term opportunity. TRADES WE WANT TO HEAR FROM: Boilermakers Welders Mechanical Fitters Experienced Trade Assistants THE PROJECT: This is a short, intensive shutdown assignment in Australia. The project is expected to commence early – mid Sept with the duration expected to be approximately 3 weeks depending on your role and the project requirements. You’ll travel from NZ, work through the shutdown period and return home once your assignment is complete. This is one mobilisation only - there is no ongoing FIFO roster attached to this opportunity at this stage. THE ROLE: Depending on your trade, your work may include: Shutdown maintenance and repair work. Welding, fabrication and mechanical work. Removal, repair and replacement of plant and equipment. Working around fixed plant and industrial equipment. Working at heights and in confined spaces. Manual handling and physically demanding work. Working as part of an experienced multi-trade shutdown team. Following strict site safety, permit and PPE requirements. Shutdown work is full-on. You’ll need to be comfortable working extended shifts, adapting to changing site requirements and maintaining high safety and workmanship standards throughout the project. WHAT’S ON OFFER: Return flights from NZ to AUS are paid for. Accommodation & Meals is provided. Short-term project - approximately 3 weeks. Competitive project rates. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: We’re looking for experienced, reliable people who understand the demands of shutdown and industrial project work. Relevant trade qualifications / licenses / tickets for your role. Proven shutdown, industrial or heavy maintenance experience. Current Working at Heights certification. Current Confined Space Entry certification. Current Gas Test Atmospheres certification. A full Class 1 NZ or Class C Driver Licence is required. Strong commitment to health and safety. Good physical fitness. The ability to work extended shifts in a demanding project environment. A reliable attitude and strong work ethic. The ability to commit to the full project duration. You’ll need good attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions and be comfortable completing the paperwork and inductions required for Australian project work. You must be able to pass pre-employment checks, including medical, drug and alcohol, and police checks. The appropriate eligibility to work in Australia. You must also be comfortable wearing required PPE for extended periods and complying with all project-specific health and safety requirements. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This advertisement is an expression of interest for this upcoming shutdown project.
