Meridian is Aotearoa’s largest renewable electricity producer, generating 100% of our energy from the winds ofTāwhirimātea, the waters of Tangaroa, and the warmth of Tama-nui-te-rā. This role will see you ensuring successful delivery of quality service on our wind turbines atourTeĀpitisite situated near Palmerston North.The wind farm has 55 turbines and can generate up to 90.75 megawatts of electricity – enough for around 30,000 average New Zealand homes! As a Wind Service Technician, you will: Carry out scheduled services and reactive maintenance onanumber ofour turbines Respond and attend to reactive maintenance andmonitoring Your peers are a team of multi-disciplined Wind Maintenance Technicians who work hard to keep our turbines in great shape.Working with the support of the Team Lead and the Site Owner, you will work safely to deliver on our maintenance planconsisting of electrical, hydraulic, and other key mechanical equipment. In addition to your day-to-day activities, you will be open to development opportunities, growing your trade knowledge and experience as you progress through our competency framework. Safety and technical training will be provided to ensure you have all the tools necessary to succeed. Role has regular day time working hours,Monday to Friday, withreactive maintenance andmonitoringoutside of normal working hours on a rostered basis once trained. Financial support for relocation is provided. The role requires a registered electrician or EST qualification, with any additionalmechanical, hydraulic, or other relevant trade backgrounds (e.g. marine, oil & gas, dairy, or heavy industry) being beneficial. Prepared to get your hands dirty in support of mechanical tasks as part of any given day. Because of the nature of the work, you’ll need to be physically fit and able to climb up to 70 metres and lift up to 25kg. You’ll be comfortable working in confined spaces, and it goes without saying able to work at height! You'll have a current Driver's License. Having experience in the wind industry and an appetite and ability to work in all types of weather will be an advantage.
