Resource Management & Environmental Litigation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Resource Management Lawyer to join a national firm with a strong and specialist environmental and public sector practice. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-profile Resource Management, environmental and climate change matters while developing your career within an established team. For the right person, there is also genuine longer-term partnership potential. The Role The team advises and acts for predominantly for public sector agencies, including regional and local authorities, on environmental and climate change law matters that have a direct impact on our communities. The work is varied, challenging and often high-profile, including: Advising and representing clients on compliance, monitoring, enforcement and regulatory obligations under the Resource Management Act, Local Government Acts and related legislation Prosecution, litigation and alternative dispute resolution on enforcement matters in the District Court, Environment Court and appellate Courts, including applications for injunctive relief Judicial review proceedings in the High Court, including matters relating to climate change Providing strategic advice to public sector clients on complex environmental and regulatory issues About You We’re interested in hearing from Resource Management Lawyers with a litigation background who have a strong interest in environmental, regulatory and public sector work. You’ll ideally bring: Strong Resource Management and environmental law experience Experience with enforcement, litigation, regulatory or public sector matters Excellent analytical, written and advocacy skills The confidence to deal directly with sophisticated clients and stakeholders A commercial and practical approach to complex legal issues Ambition to develop your practice and take on greater responsibility Why Consider This Opportunity?
