Kaiako - Te Puāwaitanga o te Wairua

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Mātauranga Māori Hauora, Hangarau, Ngā Reo, Ngā Toi, Te Reo Māori, Te Reo Pākehā, Tikanga ā-iwi, Pāngarau, Pūtaiao MITA Matipo School is seeking a passionate, collaborative and culturally responsive kaiako to join Te Puāwaitanga o te Wairua, our Level 2 bilingual unit. The specific year-level placement has not yet been confirmed. Applicants are asked to clearly state their preferred year level, relevant experience, strengths and level of confidence in te reo Māori within their cover letter. We are looking for a kaiako who: Demonstrates a strong commitment to tikanga Māori and te ao Māori Builds positive relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues Provides engaging, inclusive and responsive learning programmes Values collaboration, professional growth and contributing to the wider life of our kura Is committed to strengthening the identity, language and culture of our tamariki Experience in Māori-medium or bilingual education is highly desirable. Strengths in kapa haka, mātauranga Māori, structured literacy, mathematics or supporting diverse learners would also be welcomed. Beginning teachers and experienced teachers with the appropriate skills and commitment are encouraged to apply. School visits are warmly welcomed.
